In support of the 2015 national drunk driving enforcement crackdown, “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” Goldman & Daszkal urges Floridians to think before they drink any alcoholic beverages and get into a vehicle.
Why? Because one of the most deadliest yet preventable crimes, drunk driving, has become an epidemic in the United States. More than 10,000 people die each year from drunk driving accidents.
This year, beginning August 19, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will lead the charge to stop drunk driving. State and local officers will be involved across the country to implement the campaign, “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.”

Drunk Driving National Enforcement Crackdown
Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)
August 19 – September 7, 2015
This campaign will step up police presence and arrests, especially during Labor Day weekend. According to statistics from the NHTSA, Labor Day weekend in 2013 resulted in over 400 crashes nationwide, nearly half of which involved drivers who were driving drunk or had been drinking. In the same year, 20% of child passenger deaths were related to drunk driving — and over 70% of the time, the drunk driver was the driver of the child’s vehicle. Moreover, 44 percent of those child passengers were not using seat belts. There are lots more sobering facts at www.trafficsafetymarketing.gov.
Stop drinking and driving. Start now by taking the pledge. Encourage your family members and friends to take it, too. Just one too many drinks can affect driving and lead to devastating consequences. It’s not worth it. Learn more here: http://buzzeddriving.adcouncil.org/#take_the_pledge
