Can I Make a Claim for Diminished Value of My Vehicle If I Am Involved in a Florida Accident Case?

At Goldman & Daszkal, we handle all types of negligence cases from auto accidents to premises liability. A lot of times what happens with these auto accident cases is people’s cars suffer damage and they don’t think about the diminished value.

If you have an automobile that you own and it’s been damaged in an accident, you can recover for diminished value. That’s one of the services that we offer, in addition to handling the injury claim, is to be able to handle that diminished value claim.

Now, in order to pursue that claim, you must own the vehicle or finance it. If you lease the vehicle, you’re not eligible to make a claim for diminished value. You have to have somebody inspect the vehicle, give an estimate on what they feel the loss in value is, because when you trade in that vehicle, you’re not gonna get the same value as you would had it not been in an accident.

So if you’ve been in an accident and you’ve suffered injuries, or even if you haven’t suffered injuries, you can still make that claim for diminished value. If you’ve been in that situation and you if you’re gonna try and sell your vehicle later, please give us a call. We can walk you through the steps and help you make that claim for diminished value.
